Introduction

Native CSS nesting lets you write child rules inside parents without preprocessors. It improves locality for components while still compiling to flat selectors under the hood.

Nesting Syntax

Nested selectors should usually start with & or an explicit combinator context. Modern parsers allow nested type selectors with an implicit & in many cases — prefer explicit & for clarity and older nesting implementations.

Nesting does not magically lower specificity. .card .title is still two classes. &.active becomes .card.active (one element, two classes).

Migrating from Sass
